Humans – The Endangered Species

Since the Sixties, the American public has been brainwashed into accepting biochemically altered food and medicine produced by the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The 50’s boasted through the new media phenomenon – television – “Better Living Through Chemicals”. We believed, and we bought, swallowed and injected and are still consuming them in massive quantities.

Where did “Better Living Through Chemicals” bring us to today? We are experiencing massive chronic disease and illnesses caused by concentrated chemicals! The good news, however, is some people are beginning to wake up and realize that “Better Living Through Chemicals” was nothing more than a very effective advertising scam. Some of us are beginning to see synthetic chemicals as toxic concoctions that are best kept away from our bodies, homes, public places and wilderness.

Our diversion into “Synthetic Existence” is showing life-threatening consequences. But, on the good side, we are becoming more aware of the importance of harmonizing with nature. Plants and other whole foods are coming into their own new era. “Mainstream Medicine” dismisses the natural approach to health and well-being as “Quackery”, but Naturopathic Physicians and other enlightened health care practitioners, disillusioned with the “Status Quo” rely on them for treating their patients as a whole being instead of an amalgamation of separate body parts.

This is NO Huge Surprise!

Whole foods will become the normal method of treatment and pharmaceuticals will be taken as a last resort, thus reversing the current “Mainstream Medical” method of treatment. This will happen because the general public is being awakened to this far superior natural holistic approach to health. The “Allopathic Profession” (those engaged in alleviating symptoms) will be dragged “kicking and screaming” into this new era. They will perform amazing back-pedalling manoeuvers to quantify their previous methods of treatment.

It wasn’t all that long ago that most physicians refused to believe the absence of certain nutrients could bring on such horrible diseases as Scurvy, Pellagra and Beriberi. Today, as then the “Allopathic (pathetic) Profession” lays the blame on germs and microbes. Until – SURPRISE! – limes containing Vitamin C cured British sailors of scurvy, Vitamin B3 prevented Pellagra, Vitamin B1 prevented Beriberi, and Vitamin D prevented Rickets.

When overwhelming evidence presents itself, “Allopathic Medicine” takes a reverse turn, but not until long after “Natural Physicians” are already healing patients.

Why Is Food Medicine?

Consider the digestive system. Whatever we eat, later travels through more than 20 feet of an efficient intestinal tract that extracts certain molecules from food, then converts them to one common molecule, Acetyl Co-A. This creates building blocks the body needs to grow, build, and repair. We need:

  • Protein
  • Glucose
  • Healthy fats

The intestines work wonderfully. They convert food molecules to Acetyl Co-A, because food has familiar combinations of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. If presented with inorganic and bizarre substances such as “Plastic Food” and synthetic chemicals used in pharmaceuticals, the body has no clue as to what to do with them.

Usually they are excreted. This might explain why “Placebos” (or sugar pills) often work as well as or work better than drugs in clinical trials. What happens more often is as the body tries to detoxify offending invader drugs, it creates new “Metabolites”. These have multiple side-effects which in most cases are worse than the effects of the pharmaceutical drug itself.

How Our Bodies Process The Food We Eat

Food is right at home in the body. Since the human species emerged the body has always been able to process food quite efficiently. The body can easily break down protein into separate amino acids. Amino acids get rearranged into proteins our genes tell us to make. From the beginnings of life as a fetus – building a human from one cell, until the end of our natural lives – replacing skin and hair, growing fingernails, healing wounds, regenerating new cells throughout all our organs, our bodies need the required nutrients to perform these automated functions.

Carbohydrates and dietary fat get broken down to Acetyl Co-A and rearranged to form molecules our body needs to function. This is how our bodies have been handling things for all of our existence as a species. Have we mutated into Cyborgs – part machine, part human? Of course we haven’t – at least not yet, anyway. How can our bodies create these basic functional molecules from “Plastic Food” and pharmaceutical chemicals. It can’t!

Imagine pulling your car up to a Lemonade Stand – “Fill ‘er Up!” How far would you get? Of course the results of this experiment would be almost instantaneous. But the function of our bodies has been a slow deterioration over the last 100 years.

Before the turn of the last century (1900) both humans and animals have almost exclusively relied on plants for their medicine. Do you notice that wild animals will look for and consume plants that are appropriate treatments whenever they don’t feel up to par? Animals in the wild are free of chronic disease, even when living all the way to their maximum lifespan. Wild animals have NOT experienced “Better Living Through Chemicals”!

Our domesticated pets and animals kept in zoos have an entirely different lifestyle. Just like their human keepers they develop cancer, heart disease, arthritis, epilepsy and even diabetes is seen quite regularly. A whole new stream of income for the pharmaceutical industry. We, as pet owners feed our well-loved pets with “Plastic Pet Food” which results in treatment with synthetic pharmaceutical chemicals.

Humans and animals alike have been so intimately connected to plants for all of our existences we cannot live without them. We connect with plants and exchange with plants right down to our cells and smallest molecules. As an example: Plants give off oxygen as a waste product which we need to breathe, and we in turn expel carbon-dioxide as a waste which plants need to grow.

The same synergistic arrangement occurs when we consume a plant. Plants convert minerals from the soil into soluble minerals that are “bio-available” – our bodies know what to do with plant-based minerals. Plants contain phyto-nutrients to heal us like nothing else can. Our reliance on plants has been part of every human society. Plants and humans harmonize on levels that we still don’t understand. Why do we grow flowers, or trees that bear no fruit? It’s because we like to look at them and interact with them on some kind of metaphysical plane!

Quality of Food Equals Quality of Life

It really doesn’t matter what your beliefs are about how we came into existence on this planet. What matters is that we are physically the same creature we were when we first existed. Our physical needs are exactly the same. Our metabolism of food is basically the same as that of our recent ancestors.

What happens when we substitute industrially produced products such as “Plastic Food”, “Altered Water” and pharmaceuticals for whole unprocessed food, pure natural water, and natural plant phyto-chemicals? It’s becoming more apparent every day. The very sad consequences of the last few generations’ food, lifestyle, and medication choices are causing grievous pain, suffering and symptomatic illnesses which get worse each year.

We, as Americans should be ashamed. We have the worst health statistics (life expectancy and infant mortality) of any industrialized nation. We spend the most money on health care, eat the most junk food and take the most pharmaceuticals. Americans are getting sicker and sicker and fatter and fatter, all the while consuming an ever spiralling amount of synthetic chemically produced EXPENSIVE Pharmaceuticals?

Until just a few generations ago, our ancestors were fit and healthy compared with present-day generations. The majority lived good, active, healthy lives and ultimately died peacefully in their sleep. In primitive ancestry, you were more likely to get eaten by some wild animal, than you were to die of some illness or disease.

In today’s society, being fit, active and healthy to our last days is a rare occurrence. Today chronic disease, chronic pain and prolonged end-of-life care are becoming much more the expected outcome for us. Even our children are being diagnosed with conditions which not too long ago were classed as “Old Age Diseases”.

Why is Our Generation Obese, Sick and Over Medicated?

It’s the refined, processed, chemical products that we consume that our ancestors simply did not consume. Unless we return to the natural unprocessed foods – vegetables, fruits, meats – we will continue to degenerate as a species until there is nothing left of us to regenerate.
